Kayla A. Beasley

Hi! I’m Kayla Beasley. As an educator at Community Christian Learning Center, I am so honored to have the opportunity to take part in building the Kingdom for Christ.

Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?”

This verse (along with many other favorites) serves to remind me that the Lord equips. He calls. He leads. I am to go boldly and fearlessly straight ahead on the path that He has set, knowing that the God of my salvation goes before me in every endeavor!

I am a former Texas teacher, but a Dayton native. I graduated from Arlington Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education - 6th Grade in all core subjects. I currently hold certification through the State of Ohio for Early Childhood (PK - 3rd) with an endorsement for 4th - 5th grade. I have taught in both public schools, and private Christian schools. I’ve spent most of my teaching career with various grades in the elementary school setting, Pre K - 6th Grade. My favorite teaching adventure thus far includes coaching teams of students on topics related to Computer Science and STEM.

I’ve spent most of my career focusing on the Science of Reading with younger students, and I’ve spent a fair amount of time encouraging older students to use well-proven strategies in order to boost their reading comprehension. I have a strong background in developing and executing student-centered lessons that are highly engaging and hands-on. I want students to know that there is so much more to life than what we might read in a textbook. I want my students to have first-hand learning experiences in life, and that is exactly what I intend to do with our students at Community Christian!

My husband and I are Word of Life Bible Institute Alumni. Our time at WOLBI greatly impacted our outlook on local church ministry and personal discipleship. We live in the community of Northridge (Harrison Township) and attend a small neighborhood church where Mike preaches weekly and I serve in various forms of music ministry.

Outside of school hours, you’ll find me at the farm working my beehives, gardening, sewing, hiking, and enjoying nature. We have a 3-year-old nephew named Levi who loves monster trucks and steals the show at every family gathering. We have a free-roaming house rabbit named “Brownie”. One day, my husband perfectly summarized our bunny’s personality in a single phrase, and it just stuck: “My name’s Brown, and I own this town!” Brownie thinks he’s the boss, and we probably give in much too easily when he asks for treats.
