Lead Founding Educator

Jessica L. Williams

I never thought I would want to be a teacher. Here I am 11 years in and I am loving it! And at this point, I can’t imagine doing anything else. A fun fact about me is that my first degree is in portrait photography. However, I quickly realized that there was more that God had for me, and for those around me, that I hadn’t quite tapped into. So, I decided to continue my education and graduated from Western Governors University with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education.

It has been a wild ride ever since, as I have taught various subjects and grade levels ranging from 4th grade to 12th grade over the past 11 years. Christian education is where it’s at for me, because it’s the best of both worlds! I get to create an atmosphere where students are stimulated, encouraged, and challenged not only to learn new information academically; but they are simultaneously given opportunities to have their lives transformed by the love of God. No greater honor! I have found that no matter the grade level, building relationships with the students is what really makes the difference in their lives both in and outside of the classroom. I have also found that just because you may have all of the certifications and qualifications, it does not always make you an effective teacher. It’s the experience and insight you gain from your students and yourself by being in the classroom and learning through failures and mistakes that shape you into the better version of yourself, as a teacher.

When I’m not in the classroom, which is rare, I enjoy being outside, taking walks, taking photos, playing pickleball and volleyball, or going on adventures! My family and friends are super important to me and we spend quite a bit of time together as well. I’m also very involved as a volunteer at my church and have been since I was a pre-teen. It is so rewarding to be able to help others who are not able to give anything back in return.

What a privilege it is to be a part of an amazing community of students, teachers, and families that work together to build the Kingdom of God and make disciples that will change the world for Christ! One of my favorite verses in scripture is Isaiah 12:2 “See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” Therefore, Jesus is the reason that I am living my best life and I own my all to Him! Like my pastor always says, “Faith will launch you on a life adventure”. So, wherever He leads me, that’s where you’ll find me.
